your KSA?
Posted: July 15, 2006
Updated: July 30, 2006
As if things weren't looking corrupt enough, your KSA has been working hard to undo the results of the January 2006 Election by impeaching and removing a number of KSA Council members that were supposedly duly elected by the students of Kwantlen University College.
Since April 2006:
- One elected, non-voting elected member of the Board resigned;
- Five voting elected members of the Board were either removed or impeached;
- Two voting members of Campus Council were removed or impeached; and
- One voting member of Campus Council seemingly disappeared.
This means, that the complete control of the KSA, including its million dollar budget, is in the hands of only five individuals. Under the old KSA system, this could have never happened.
In many respects, this goes to show just how undemocratic the KSA is and just how little power the membership has under the RAF Party. It further highlights how a Society's Board of Directors should not have the power to impeach or remove each other. If the members of a Society elect someone, then they should be the only ones with the power to remove that official.
This page will track the removals as they are announced and as they take place. Links to the appropriate minutes in which these removals took place will be posted shortly. Check back often to see how your voice is being subverted!

2. Where in the world is Stefan Takhar???
Also, what in the world happened to Richmond Member-At-Large Stefan Takhar (see page 4 of 5)? Specifically, he:
- has not been listed on the door of Richmond Campus Council in a very long time as being someone who works at the Richmond KSA;
- has not been listed on the Elected Officials page of the KSA website (see bottom of the page for a listing of Richmond members);
- does not appear on the Contact Us page of the KSA website; and
- has not been mentioned as having resigned, quit, been fired or taken a leave of absence in any agendas or minutes of any meeting in the KSA, that I can find as of July 30, 2006.
So again, it leaves me wondering, what in the world happened to Stefan Takhar? Did he even exist in the first place? Or was he some name thrown on the ballot to ensure that neither Kayce Hopwood or Cassandra Dieudonne were not elected? Sadly, we may never know.
3. Complaints...
On July 29, 2006 an official complaint with the KSA Ombudsperson was filed by Steven Lee, regarding the appointment of Stafford Richter on July 28, 2006:
