personal poetry
steve lee's what the darkness doesn't know
love lust music

so here I am

lazily
hazily

thinking of your
deep purple
mauve maroon
dark colored
beautiful lips

thinking ––- no dreaming

as ecstatic moonlight
breathes life into
my room ––- brightening this
long lonely night
casting shadows hitherto
everywhere on my dark oak floors

as I stare out through the window
and out onto the world below ––-
lost in the glow of
light — the pinpricks of street lamps
row upon row ––- leads my
eye off into the distance

and into a sweet simple seductive
memory of you

but if dreams could become
reality ––- I’d be holding
you for an eternity forever

pushing away sappy poetry
in favor of just being here

snuggled up in front of
a warm glow of fire ––-
with embers soft and gold ––-
just you and me
wrapped
up in blankets close
warm and

alone

like some primitive form
of snuggle lust that takes
us over and lulls us into a
drunk dazed happy state

and here I am

lazily
hazily

falling for you
in you with you

yes -- just you
