personal poetry
steve lee's what the darkness doesn't know
two one two and four

two actors and a
nightingale watch
as the beautification
of forever ends
on a saturday

as the music grows
older bolder and colder

its rhymes melting lurid
and dripping into a
loud sticky paste

and you're just standing there
breathing air

stuck and lost in
a foggy haze of
lonesome solemn
solitude

like a trap door
on the heart
that's fashioned
out of either
solid steel or
some putrefied
decaying wood
nailed to the
heart with rusty
bolts and hinges

and you'll be there
just standing there

choking on air
two one two and four
