personal poetry
steve lee's what the darkness doesn't know
Untitled No. 14

u are
beautiful precious desire
like a faded living mystery

that turns deeply into
a luminous silky memory

and then into
something forgotten
amongst the feathers
that are thick
with musky dust

and the tiny diamonds
have been lost and scattered
amongst the cracks of cobblestones
and country roads

(c) October 8, 2002, Steven H. Lee
