personal poetry
steve lee's what the darkness doesn't know
fleeting memories

disappear like water under the bridge

like water under the bridge
like water under the bridge

a ship sailing off into the distance as I dream in cliche
there’s nothing original left inside the nooks and crannies of my mind.

Descriptions:	7 ideas of sexual awakening

feeling the warmth of your touch
feeling the soft caress of your hand

Just feeling and fleeting memories and fragments of time explode
and F L O A T off into space somewhere like asteroids lost
spinning molten rocks floating gently through the dark

you drink bitter milk and taste bitter oranges
and ask what the darkness doesn’t know and the light
it shrinks into this tiny black box that sits in the middle of
this opaque bright white light

it’s blinding you and floating toward you
it’s going kill you but just before it does it
S M A S H E S into a million f u c k i n g pieces
that scatter and float down to land on some invisible floor

sure you can kiss and tell but don’t look back at those
fragments on the floor – they’re too small to recognize and just
too many to try to fix and glue back together like a tea pot
that could never be used

kissing soft lips that taste like wine
kissing soft lips like cool misty rain
cool misty rain on a warm summers day
a warm summers day dying into darkened night
